Salvation

You’ve Tried Everything — And It Still Hurts

You tried being strong.
You tried being good.
You tried distractions, religion, self-improvement, and starting over.

Yet the pain remains.

The Bible explains why: the deepest wound is not circumstantial — it is spiritual.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?”Jeremiah 17:9

We were not created to live apart from God. When sin entered the world, it fractured our relationship with Him — and that fracture shows up as guilt, emptiness, fear, shame, and unrest.

“All of us like sheep have gone astray; each of us has turned to our own way.”Isaiah 53:6

No amount of effort can heal what only God can restore.

Jesus Didn’t Come for Perfect People

Jesus never claimed to save people who had their lives together.
He came for the broken, the weary, the guilty, and the lost.

“Those who are well, have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”Mark 2:17

The Bible is clear: no one is perfect.

“There is none righteous, no, not one.”Romans 3:10
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”Romans 3:23

Jesus does not wait for you to clean yourself up. He invites you to come as you are.

Who Is Jesus?

Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, who entered the world out of love for sinners.

“In the beginning was the Word… and the Word was God… and the Word was made flesh.”John 1:1, 14

He lived a sinless life, fully pleasing to God — something no human has ever done.

“He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in His mouth.”1 Peter 2:22

Why Jesus Died on the Cross

Sin has a cost. The Bible says the penalty for sin is death — separation from God.

“For the wages of sin is death.”Romans 6:23

On the cross, Jesus took that penalty in our place.

“But He was wounded for our transgressions… the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”Isaiah 53:5–6
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross.”1 Peter 2:24

The cross is not about condemnation — it is about substitution.
Jesus took our sins, infirmities, sicknesses, guilts and diseases. He nailed them on the cross, so we could receive wholeness, perfect health, wealth and all those things our hearts so much desire.

The Resurrection Changes Everything

Jesus did not remain in the grave.

On the third day, He rose from the dead — proving sin was paid for and death was defeated.

“He is not here, for He has risen, as He said.”Matthew 28:6

The resurrection is God’s declaration that salvation is complete.

“If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile.”1 Corinthians 15:17

But He has been raised.

Salvation Is a Gift — Not a Reward

You cannot earn salvation. You cannot work for it. You cannot deserve it.

Salvation is a gift of grace.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith… not of works.”Ephesians 2:8–9
“But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 6:23

Grace means God saves us because He is good, not because we are.

How to Receive Salvation

Salvation is received through repentance and faith.

  • Repentance means turning away from sin and self-rule.
  • Faith means trusting Jesus alone to save you.

“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.”Acts 3:19
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”Acts 16:31

Jesus Himself promises:

“Whoever comes to Me I will never cast out.”John 6:37

A Personal Invitation

Jesus is not calling you to religion. He is calling you to life.

“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28

  • No matter your past.
  • No matter your failures.
  • No matter how far you think you’ve gone.

“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”Romans 5:8

A Simple Prayer of Faith

If you desire salvation, you can pray something like this — not as a formula, but from the heart:

“Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and cannot save myself.
I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead.
I turn away from my old life and place my trust in You alone.
Forgive me, save me, and make me new.
I surrender my life to You and accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Amen.”

What Happens Now?

When you trust in Jesus:

  • Your sins are forgiven
  • You are made new
  • You are reconciled to God
  • You receive eternal life

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”2 Corinthians 5:17
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”Romans 8:1

Final Truth

You don’t need to be perfect. You need a Saviour.

And His name is Jesus Christ.
