THE VIALS OF GOD’S WRATH”

Text: Revelation 15–16

“And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.” — Revelation 15:1

INTRODUCTION

There is a side of God many love to preach about, and there is also a side that we have to avoid.

We preach God’s love.
We preach God’s mercy.
We preach God’s grace.

And we should.

But the Bible also reveals a moment in history when mercy is no longer offered, warnings are no longer repeated, and God Himself says:

“It is done.” (Revelation 16:17)

The vials also called the bowls of God’s wrath are not symbolic emotions.
They are literal, final, and righteous judgments poured out on a world that has rejected the Lamb.

This message is not meant to entertain—it is meant to warn, wake, and win souls.

WHAT ARE THE VIALS OF GOD’S WRATH?

“For in them is filled up the wrath of God.” — Revelation 15:1

The vials are:

  • The last judgments of God
  • Poured out after the Great Tribulation
  • Directed toward those who worship the beast
  • The completion of divine justice

Unlike the seals and trumpets:

  • There is no pause
  • There is no repentance call
  • There is no delay

Mercy has already been rejected.

WHY GOD RELEASES HIS WRATH

“They repented not to give him glory.” — Revelation 16:9

God’s wrath is not uncontrolled anger.
It is holy justice after persistent rebellion.

This world:

  • Rejected Christ
  • Persecuted the saints
  • Shed innocent blood
  • Worshiped the Antichrist
  • Mocked God’s warnings

“True and righteous are thy judgments.” — Revelation 16:7

God is patient but He is not passive.

FIRST VIAL – PAINFUL SORES

“There fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast.” — Revelation 16:2

This judgment:

  • Targets only those with the mark
  • Produces physical torment
  • Has no cure and no relief

What they accepted for convenience and survival becomes their source of suffering.

What you align with will eventually define your outcome.

SECOND & THIRD VIALS – THE EARTH TURNS TO BLOOD

“And every living soul died in the sea.” — Revelation 16:3

“Thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.”
— Revelation 16:6

God responds to:

  • The blood of martyrs
  • The persecution of the righteous
  • The violence of the wicked

Blood cried out and God answered.

FOURTH VIAL – SCORCHING HEAT

“Men were scorched with great heat.” — Revelation 16:9

Instead of repenting:

“They blasphemed the name of God.”

Judgment does not soften hardened hearts, it exposes them.

Even pain cannot produce repentance when pride rules the heart.

FIFTH VIAL – DARKNESS OVER THE BEAST’S KINGDOM

“And his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain.” — Revelation 16:10

This is:

  • Psychological torment
  • Collapse of Antichrist’s authority
  • Total confusion

Every kingdom that opposes God ends in darkness.

THE SIXTH VIAL – ARMAGEDDON PREPARED

“To gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”
— Revelation 16:14

The Euphrates dries up.
Nations march.
Deception spreads.

And suddenly, Jesus speaks:

“Behold, I come as a thief.”
— Revelation 16:15

Even in wrath, God gives one final warning.

SEVENTH VIAL – IT IS DONE

“It is done.” — Revelation 16:17

What follows:

  • The greatest earthquake in history
  • Cities collapse
  • Islands disappear
  • Massive hailstones fall

And yet:

“Men blasphemed God.”
— Revelation 16:21

This is the end of human rebellion and the end of this world system.

THE MESSAGE FOR TODAY

This passage is not written to frighten believers.

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:9

This is written to:

  • Warn sinners
  • Wake the complacent
  • Call people to repentance now

Mercy is available today.
Wrath comes tomorrow.

CLOSING WARNING

The world rejected the Lamb.

One day, it will face the Lion.

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”                 — Hebrews 10:31

ALTAR CALL / INVITATION

“Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:2

If you are not right with God
If you are delaying repentance
If you are trusting this world instead of Christ

Today is your moment.

The vials have not yet been poured.
Grace is still flowing.
Jesus is still calling.
