INTRODUCTION
Sanctified for Glory, God Must Change You Before He Reveals Himself to You
Beloved, we are living in a time where many people want God’s power… but not His process.
We want His blessings… but not His transformation.
We want His glory… but not sanctification.
But the truth is this:
👉 God does not reveal His glory to what is not prepared to carry it.
There is something God is calling His people back to…Not popularity. Not performance.
But sanctification.
The Bible says:
“This is the will of God, your sanctification…” — 1 Thessalonians 4:3
So, if sanctification is God’s will, then ignoring it means we are living outside His will.
WHAT IS SANCTIFICATION?
Sanctification simply means:
👉 To be set apart for God and to be made holy.
It is not just about what you stop doing…It is about who you are becoming.
There are two dimensions:
1. You are set apart (position)
When you come to Christ, God separates you from the world spiritually.
“You were washed; you were sanctified…” — 1 Corinthians 6:11
2. You are being transformed (process)
Daily, God begins to change your desires, your thoughts, your lifestyle.
“We are being transformed… from glory to glory.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18
Sanctification is not instant perfection…It is daily surrender.
HOW CAN I BE SANCTIFIED
Sanctification isn’t something you achieve by trying harder. It’s a life of being set apart to God and steadily changed by Him, with your cooperation.
Here’s how that actually happens in a real, daily way:
1. You don’t sanctify yourself first, you give yourself to God first.
“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice…” — Romans 12:1
That means:
- “God, my life is Yours”
- “My decisions, habits, desires—You lead”
2. You cannot be sanctified while distant from God.
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8
Sanctification happens in relationship, not isolation.
3. God’s Word cleans and corrects you.
“Sanctify them by Your truth; Your word is truth.” — John 17:17
Instead of just reading, ask:
- “What is God showing me?”
- “What needs to change in me?”
Key principle:
Don’t just consume Scripture—let it confront you.
4. You are not meant to change yourself alone.
“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” — Galatians 5:16
The Holy Spirit will:
- Convict you (not condemn you)
- Guide you
- Strengthen you to say no to sin
Practical moment:
When you feel that inner check (“don’t do this”) respond immediately.
That’s sanctification happening in real time.
5. Sanctification requires intentional separation.
“Cleanse yourselves… and purify your hearts.” — James 4:8
Ask yourself:
- What habits weaken my spiritual life?
- What environments make me compromise?
- What content affects my thoughts?
Be honest and decisive.
God won’t force you.
Sanctification is not about never failing…
It’s about not staying the same after failure.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful… to cleanse us.” — 1 John 1:9
Healthy pattern:
- Notice → Confess → Turn → Move forward
Don’t hide from God—run to Him.
Sanctification takes time.
“He who began a good work in you will complete it…” — Philippians 1:6
What matters is:
👉 Moving toward God, not away from Him.
WHY SANCTIFICATION IS NOT OPTIONAL
Many people treat holiness as a suggestion. But Scripture presents it as a requirement.
1. The Bible says without holiness, you cannot see God
“Without holiness no one will see the Lord.” — Hebrews 12:14
That means:
You can attend church…You can know Scripture…But without sanctification… you will miss God.
2. Sin separates you from God’s presence
“Your sins have separated you from your God…” — Isaiah 59:2
God does not move away…Sin creates distance.
3. God is holy and He calls you to be like Him
“Be holy, for I am holy.” — 1 Peter 1:16
God will never lower His standard to match us.
EXAMPLES OF SANCTIFIED LIVES
God has always revealed Himself to people who chose holiness.
🔹 Moses
Moses separated himself from Egypt, was consecrated and ready for the master's use.
Because of that:
“The Lord spoke to Moses face to face.” — Exodus 33:11
Many people want encounters…But few want consecration.
🔹 Joseph
When temptation came, Joseph said:
“How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?” — Genesis 39:9
He chose holiness… even when no one was watching.
🔹 Daniel
“Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself…” — Daniel 1:8
And because of that, God gave him wisdom, favor, and supernatural insight.
THE BENEFITS OF SANCTIFICATION
It is pertinent to note that sanctification is not restriction…It is preparation for something greater.
1. You experience God’s presence
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8
2. You become useful to God
“A vessel for honor… prepared for every good work.” — 2 Timothy 2:21
God uses clean vessels.
3. You receive peace
“You will keep him in perfect peace…” — Isaiah 26:3
4. You bear fruit
“He who abides in Me… bears much fruit.” — John 15:5
SANCTIFICATION AND THE GLORY OF GOD
This is where many miss it.
👉 You cannot carry God’s glory without sanctification.
Sanctification comes before manifestation
“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders…” — Joshua 3:5
Before wonders… there must be consecration.
God’s glory dwells in purity
“Who may ascend… He who has clean hands and a pure heart.” — Psalms 24:3–4.
There is a cycle: glory → sanctification → more glory
“From glory to glory…” — 2 Corinthians 3:18
The more you are purified…The more God reveals Himself.
THE DANGER OF IGNORING SANCTIFICATION
We are in a generation that wants:
- Anointing without holiness
- Influence without purity
- Power without obedience
But God is raising people who understand:
👉 Holiness is the foundation of everything.
Right now, God is not asking for perfection…
He is asking for surrender.
Ask yourself:
- What is God asking me to let go of?
- What is separating me from Him?
- What needs to change in my life?
The Bible says:
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8
👉 God does not reveal His glory to impress you…He reveals it to transform you.
And transformation begins…with sanctification.
